MAUNA LOA® MACADAMIAS 

50th Anniversary Photo Contest 

OFFICIAL CONTEST RULES 

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. A PURCHASE WILL NOT IMPROVE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. 

These Official Rules govern the Mauna Loa® Macadamias 50th Anniversary Photo Contest (the “Contest”). By submitting an entry, you agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Sponsor, which are final and binding in all matters relating to the Contest. 

1. SPONSOR 

The Contest is sponsored by Hawaiian Host Group (“Sponsor”). [Insert address]. For questions, contact: [Insert contest email address]. 

2. CONTEST PERIOD 

The Contest begins at 12:00:01 AM Hawaiian Standard Time (“HST”) on July 13, 2026, and ends at 11:59:59 PM HST on September 4, 2026 (the “Contest Period”). Sponsor’s computer is the official timekeeping device for this Contest. 

3. ELIGIBILITY 

The Contest is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of entry. Residents of U.S. territories (including Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands) and all other countries are not eligible to enter or win. Employees, officers, and directors of Hawaiian Host Group, its affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, and members of their immediate families (spouse, parent, child, sibling, and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) or persons living in the same household, are not eligible to enter or win. 

4. HOW TO ENTER 

During the Contest Period, visit the official contest submission portal at https://hawaiianhost.com/pages/mauna-loa-50th-anniversary and submit a photo entry by completing the following steps: 

• Upload a photo (see Photo Requirements below). 
• Provide your full name and valid email address. 
• Confirm your acceptance of these Official Rules. 

Multiple entries are permitted; however, each entrant is eligible to win only one (1) prize regardless of the number of photos submitted. All entries must be received by 11:59:59 PM HST on September 4, 2026. 

5. PHOTO REQUIREMENTS 

Submitted photos must meet ALL of the following requirements: 

• The photo must feature the entrant with one or more Mauna Loa® Macadamias products, and/or be taken at or near the Mauna Loa Visitor Center (Hilo, Hawaiʻi). 
• Photos may be historical (taken in any year) or recent. 
• File format: JPEG or PNG only. 
• Minimum resolution: 1000 x 1000 pixels. 
• Maximum file size: 20 MB per photo. 
• The entrant must appear in the photo, or the photo must clearly depict Mauna Loa® products or the Mauna Loa Visitor Center. 
• Photos must not contain nudity, offensive content, hate speech, or material that violates any applicable law or third-party intellectual property rights. 
• Photos must not depict or promote alcohol, tobacco, or illegal substances. 

6. PHOTOS DEPICTING MINORS – PARENTAL/GUARDIAN CONSENT 

If a submitted photo includes the image or likeness of any person under the age of eighteen (18) (“Minor”), the entrant must comply with ALL of the following requirements: 

• The entrant must be the parent or legal guardian of the Minor, OR must have obtained prior written consent from the Minor’s parent or legal guardian before submitting the photo. 
• By submitting a photo that includes a Minor, the entrant represents, warrants, and agrees that: (a) the entrant is the Minor’s parent or legal guardian, or has secured written authorization from the Minor’s parent or legal guardian; (b) the parent or legal guardian consents to the Minor’s image being submitted and, if the entry is selected or featured by Sponsor, to the use of the Minor’s name, image, and likeness as described below. 
• Photos submitted in violation of this requirement will be disqualified. Sponsor reserves the right to request written proof of parental or guardian consent at any time. 
   

PUBLICITY RELEASE FOR PHOTOS DEPICTING MINORS: 

By submitting a photo that includes a Minor and by accepting these Official Rules, the entrant (on behalf of themselves and, where applicable, as parent or legal guardian of the Minor) grants Sponsor a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide license to use, reproduce, display, distribute, and publish the Minor’s name, image, and likeness as captured in the submitted photo for the following purposes: 

• Mauna Loa® and Hawaiian Host Group social media channels (including but not limited to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and X/Twitter); 
• The official Mauna Loa® website (maunaloa.com and any successor URLs); 
• Mauna Loa® email marketing communications to subscribers; and 
• Other owned Mauna Loa® digital and print marketing properties, including contest recap content and anniversary campaign materials. 

This license is granted without further compensation to the entrant, the Minor, or the Minor’s parent or legal guardian. The entrant and, where applicable, the parent or legal guardian of the Minor, waive any right to inspect or approve the manner in which the photo is used within the scope described above. Sponsor will not use the Minor’s full name in any public-facing caption or post without separate written permission from the parent or legal guardian. 

To withdraw consent for use of a Minor’s image after submission, the parent or legal guardian must contact Sponsor in writing at [INSERT CONTEST EMAIL]. Withdrawal of consent will not affect uses already made prior to receipt of the withdrawal request, and may result in disqualification of the associated entry. 

7. JUDGING 

All eligible entries will be reviewed and judged by a panel of qualified judges selected by Sponsor. Entries will be scored on the following equally weighted criteria: 

• Creativity & Originality (34%): Uniqueness of concept, composition, or storytelling. 
• Brand Connection (33%): How authentically and memorably the photo reflects the Mauna Loa brand, products, or heritage. 
• Visual Quality (33%): Photo clarity, lighting, and overall visual impact. 

The twenty (20) entries receiving the highest cumulative scores will be selected as winners. In the event of a tie, the tied entry with the higher Brand Connection score will prevail. Judges’ decisions are final and binding. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any entry it deems, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate or in violation of these rules. 

8. PRIZES 

Twenty (20) winners will each receive one (1) prize package. Prize packages will be awarded as follows: 

• 1st Place (1 winner): Mauna Loa® Jacket (ARV: $100), Mauna Loa® Macadamia Plush Toy (ARV: $30), and Mauna Loa® Lunchbox (ARV: $30). Total ARV: $160. 
• 2nd–20th Place (19 winners): [Sponsor to specify prize allocation per tier, e.g., jacket only, or lunchbox + plush toy, etc.]. 

Total approximate retail value (“ARV”) of all prizes: [INSERT TOTAL ARV BASED ON FINAL TIER STRUCTURE]. Prizes are non-transferable and no substitution or cash equivalent is permitted, except by Sponsor in its sole discretion due to unavailability, in which case a prize of equal or greater value may be substituted. All federal, state, and local taxes on prizes are the sole responsibility of the winner. 

9. WINNER NOTIFICATION 

Potential winners will be notified by email within thirty (30) days of the close of the Contest Period. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within seven (7) days of the first notification attempt, or if prize notification is returned as undeliverable, that potential winner may be disqualified and an alternate winner may be selected from the remaining eligible entries. Winners may be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability Release, and (where permitted by law) Publicity Release within fourteen (14) days of the date of issuance. Failure to return the required documents within the stated timeframe may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. 

10. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY & LICENSE 

By submitting a photo, each entrant: 

• Represents and warrants that the photo is the entrant’s original work, does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights, and does not violate any right of privacy or publicity of any person depicted. 
• Grants Sponsor a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to use, reproduce, display, distribute, and publish the photo in connection with the Contest and for Mauna Loa® promotional and marketing purposes across all media, without further compensation. 
• Acknowledges that Sponsor will not be responsible for unauthorized use of entries by third parties. 

11. PRIVACY 

Personal information collected in connection with this Contest will be used only to administer the Contest and notify winners, and will be handled in accordance with Sponsor’s Privacy Policy at https://hawaiianhost.com/pages/mauna-loa-50th-anniversary. Entrants may be added to a Mauna Loa marketing email list unless they opt out at the time of entry. 

12. GENERAL CONDITIONS 

Sponsor reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the Contest at any time and for any reason. Sponsor is not responsible for: (a) lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected entries; (b) technical failures of any kind; (c) unauthorized human intervention; or (d) any injury or damage to persons or property resulting from participation in this Contest. By participating, entrants agree to release and hold harmless Sponsor and its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, employees, agents, and contractors from any claims, damages, or liability arising out of participation in the Contest or acceptance or use of a prize. This Contest is void where prohibited. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation, and enforceability of these Official Rules shall be governed by the laws of the State of Hawaiʻi. 

13. DISPUTES 

Except where prohibited by law, as a condition of participating in this Contest, entrant agrees that (a) any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with this Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually without resort to any form of class action; and (b) any and all disputes shall be governed by the laws of the State of Hawaiʻi, without respect to choice of law provisions. 

14. WINNERS LIST
