Win a Special Vortic Railroad Edition Watch Built for the Age of Steam Roundhouse
The Age of Steam Roundhouse begins its inaugural year of public tours in 2019 and we have partnered with Vortic Watch Company to celebrate!
Vortic has created a one-of-a-kind version of their new Railroad Edition timepiece that we will be giving away to one lucky individual at the end of our 2019 tour season (winner announced November 4th).
The Railroad Edition of Vortic’s American Artisan Series is a line of fully U.S. made wristwatches powered by restored, lever-set, Railroad Grade, pocket watch movements manufactured by one of the various great American watch companies.
The Age of Steam Roundhouse Railroad Edition utilizes a movement manufactured in 1924 by for Cleveland’s Ball Watch Company. It was one of only 53,600 ever produced.
The movement is a 21 jewel, 16-size, lever set movement with a white porcelain dial marked with the Ball Watch Company “RR” trademark. Ball established the “RR Standard” (“RR” for Rail Road) to assure a high accuracy and near-perfect time reading for all railroad employees. “Age of Steam Roundhouse” is engraved on the back of the watch case.
