This November, one lucky musician will take home the stunning Kala Desert Story Lines “Bushfoods” Soprano Ukulele (KA-DS-MB-BF-S).
The “Bushfoods” ukulele features original artwork by Margaret Bloomfield, an Aboriginal artist from Santa Teresa, a remote community 100 km south-east of Alice Springs.
Her painting tells the story of the bushfoods that grow naturally in the desert — such as passionfruit ‘Arruntene’ and bush banana ‘Alangkwe’. These fruits represent sustenance, survival, and the deep connection between people and the land.
“My painting is about the bushfoods we often go out to collect and eat… It is important to me to teach the young kids and pass on the knowledge the right way.”
— Margaret Bloomfield
