Rules

Eligibility 

1.1. Applicants must have their primary residence in Scotland. 

1.2. Applicants must not hold a St Andrews Links Yearly Ticket. 

1.3. Members of a St Andrews-based golf club are not eligible to apply. 

1.4. Eligibility criteria vary by day and must be met by all applicants. 

1.5. Proof of eligibility (e.g. photo ID, official documentation) may be required at the starter hut. 

Application and Communication 

2.1. All correspondence will be conducted with the designated lead golfer – the individual named on the original application and in receipt of the tee time confirmation email. 

2.2. The lead golfer is responsible for: 

Submitting all relevant participant information. 

Coordinating payment. 

Managing any subsequent changes to the booking. 

Payment Terms 

3.1. Successful applicants will receive a provisional booking email within 7 days after the application closing date, including a payment deadline.

3.2. Payment must be made using: 

The secure link provided in the email

3.3. Third-party payments are not accepted. 

3.4. Bookings are VAT exempt. 

3.5. The package fee is non-refundable. Applicants are strongly advised to purchase travel insurance to cover unforeseen cancellations. 

3.6. Failure to pay by the stated deadline will result in the cancellation of the booking. 

Booking Amendments 

4.1. The lead golfer cannot be changed once the application is submitted. 

4.2. Up to two participant name changes per booking are permitted free of charge. 

4.3. Any further changes will incur the full fee per amendment. 

4.4. Name change requests must be submitted in writing by the lead golfer to reservations@standrews.com, including: 

Booking reference 

Name(s) to be replaced 

Full details (name, home club, handicap) of replacement(s) 

4.5. Changes can be made up to 7 days prior to the first day of play. 

4.6. Only the final list of named golfers will be permitted to play. 

Adding Golfers 

5.1. The ability to add additional golfers to a booking is subject to limited availability. 

5.2. Requests to add golfers must be made to reservations@standrews.com no later than 7 days prior to the first day of play. 

5.3. Unfilled tee time slots may be allocated either in advance or on the day of play. 

Hire Equipment and Services 

6.1. Trolleys are permitted on all courses and can be hired from the starter on the day. 

6.2. Buggies are available in limited numbers and subject to eligibility. Contact reservations@standrews.com to check availability. 

6.3. Caddies and hire clubs can be booked online after receiving confirmation of your tee time. 

On the Day of Play 

7.1. Players must check in at least 20 minutes before their scheduled tee time. 

7.2. A copy of the booking confirmation must be presented to the starter. 

7.3. Photo identification may be required to confirm the identity of named golfers. 

7.4. Only named golfers will be permitted to play. 

Pace of Play & Handicap Requirements 

8.1. All golfers must adhere to St Andrews Links Trust’s Pace of Play Policy. 

8.2. A valid handicap certificate (maximum 36) is required to play the Old Course. 

8.3. A letter of introduction is not acceptable in place of an official handicap certificate. 

Bad Weather Policy 

9.1. Golfers must familiarise themselves with the St Andrews Links Bad Weather Policy, available online. 

9.2. Refunds or changes due to weather will be handled in accordance with this policy. 

Commercial Activity 

10.1. St Andrews Links Trust reserves the right to refuse any application suspected of commercial involvement or resale. 

Data and Communications 

11.1. The lead golfer will receive further trip information by email or SMS using the contact details submitted at the time of application. 

11.2. If any contact information changes, it is the applicant’s responsibility to inform reservations@standrews.com. 

11.3. Personal information may be shared with third parties only as required to deliver elements of your experience.

Photography & Videography 

12.1. All participants acknowledge that photography and videography may take place at the event in accordance with the St Andrews Links Trust Privacy Notice.
