Savannah Sounds on the Reef 

Terms & Conditions April 27th – Moore Reef Pontoon

Sound Australia (Qld) Pty Ltd ABN 53 163 125 013 (the ‘Promoter’). Savannah Sounds on the Reef will be held on April 27th, 2024 (the “Event”)

The Reef Magic Pontoon (the “Venue”).  

Terms and Conditions for Community Heroes Competition

1. Eligibility:

a. The Community Heroes Competition (the "Competition") is open to individuals who are residents of Australia and are at least 18 years old at the time of entry.

b. Each entrant can only nominate one (1) Community Hero during the Promotional Period

b. Employees of the Promoter and their immediate family members are not eligible to enter or be nominated.

2. Entry Requirements:

a. Entrants must submit their entry via the designated entry form at savannahintheround.com.au

b. Entries must be original and created solely by the Entrant.

c. Entrants must be individuals and entrants must provide accurate and complete information when submitting their entry.

3. Submission Guidelines:

a. Entries should showcase an individual or group who has made significant contributions to the community through acts of kindness, charity work, volunteerism, or any other form of community service.

b. Entries can be in the form of written content as specified by Savannah in the Round.

d. Entries must comply with all applicable laws and regulations and must not contain any offensive, degrading, defamatory, illegal or infringing content.

e. all content created related to a submission must be created or acquired or used by legal means.  

4.Promotion Period

a. Competition entry is open to eligible entrants at 9:30am (AEST) Friday 5th April and will conclude at 5:00pm (AEST) Friday 19th April (the closing date).

b. Entries submitted outside the closing date will not be considered the promotion and will be invalid and not subject to consideration.

5. Judging Criteria:

a. Entries will be judged based on the following criteria: impact on the community, creativity, originality, and alignment with the theme of the competition.

b. The judging panel will be composed of representatives appointed by the Promoter. 

c. subject to the sole discretion of the Promoter, the Judges decisions will be final and not subject to reconsideration.

d. A prize winner will be the nominated individual or group and winners will be notified following the judges decision.

f. In the event that a Prize winner does not accept the prize (within the time stipulated by the promoter), the prize may be given to another. 

g. Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other item.

h. The amount of prize winners may be determined by the promoter at anytime 

6. Prize:

a. The prize is subject to reasonable change without notice, but (at the time of publication) includes the following;

-    Return transfers to/from Cairns Marlin Marina and Reef Magic Pontoon

-    5+ hours on the outer reef experience at Moore Reef

-    Marine Biology presentations and laboratory demonstrations

-    Breakfast, lunch, and afternoon tea package. 

-    Limited Beverage package inclusive of beer, wine and soft drinks from 12pm (AEST) until 3:30pm (AEST)

-    Option of attend event arranged activities such as 

•     Glass bottom boat tours guided by a cultural guide (subject to availability)

•    Semi-submersible tours (subject to availability)

•    Fish feed demonstration and identification session

•    All snorkel equipment with instruction

-    2 x Tickets to attend the events Music Performances from 12pm (AEST) – 3pm (AEST) 

b. Interstate winners prize to include the following; 

-      Two (2) return economy flights from the nearest Capital City to Cairns for 2 passengers to attend the Event.

-      Two (2) nights twin share accommodation for the Event

c. Access to all event related water-based activities 

7. Intellectual Property:

a. Entrants retain ownership of the intellectual property rights in their entries, but grants grant the Promoter an, royalty-free, worldwide license to use and display their any platform or medium, including  websites and social media platforms for promotional purposes.

8. Publicity:

a. entrants and prize winners  agree to participate in any publicity or promotional activities related to the competition if requested by the Promoter.

b. The Promoter reserves the right to use the names, images, and biographical information of the entrants and the nominated persons or groups winners for promotional purposes.

9. Privacy:

a. Personal information collected from participants will be shared with appropriate 3rd Party collaborators for the purpose of administering the competition, future promotions and for other  purposes reasonably related to the competition. This information will be handled in accordance with  the Promoters  privacy policy and the privacy policies of 3rd party collaborators.  Participants consent to the publication of their names to satisfy the statutory obligations of Queensland government agencies.

10. Amendments:

The Promoter reserves the right to amend or modify these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice.

11. Governing Law:

These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Queensland. Any disputes arising out of or in connection with the competition shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Queensland.

12. Disqualification:

a. The Promotor reserves the right at any time to disqualify (and if applicable cancel any right to the prize/s for) any entrant   who violates the terms and conditions including  submitting inappropriate or fraudulent or nonoriginal  entries

b. Any decision regarding the selection of winners and any other matters related to the competition is final and binding.

13.  Event Attendance 

a.  Intoxicated persons  may be asked to leave any relevant the premises to ensure the safety and enjoyment of others and /or refused service. If this is required, all costs associated with the removal of the attendee will be the sole responsibility of the attendee. 

b. All attendees will follow any direction from all staff, event security and emergency personnel at all times, for the safety of the individual and all the guests.

c. The Promoter, its affiliates, contractors, advisors, partners and staff will not be liable for any incidents, injuries, or damages resulting from excessive alcohol consumption. By entering the event, attendees assume all responsibility for their behaviour and consumption choices.

d. The Promoter will not be responsible for any personal in-room charges at accommodation, or any losses associated with any changes to the event, or for any losses associated with any unforeseen circumstances that alter the Event, or parts of the Event, or cause the Event to be postponed or rescheduled unless otherwise required by legislation. 

e. The Promoter may make changes to the event and any event related activities, schedules,  accommodation and travel arrangements  at any time.

f. Any person attending the event and any related activities agree to comply with all rules and regulations, by laws and terms of entry related to the event, supplied accommodation and travel and activities related to the event. 

g. A requirement of attending the event is that attendees will be required to grant permission for the Queensland Government to publish information pertaining to recipients of tickets in compliance with obligations under the Information Privacy Act 2009 (IP Act) regarding disclosure (Information Privacy Principle 11) and the transfer of personal information overseas (section 33).

h. A requirement of attending the event  attendees are required to acknowledge that the event may be photographed, video recorded and/or live streamed and whilst participating in the event I may be filmed or photographed.  And to  consent to being photographed and attendees  image and voice being recorded, and replayed/published to other audiences, including being made publicly available on the internet and/or used by Savannah in the Round partners for promotional and training purposes.

By submitting and entry and /or being nominated in the Community Heroes Competition, each agree to comply with these terms and conditions.
