Mr. Vaughan - Wooster High School (9-12) We are the Wooster Disc Golf club and we would love to help get a portable 9 hole course set up at our school to help grow the sport and our club. Our community project goal is to be out at disc golf courses helping with trash pick up and keeping the local courses up to par.

We could also have evening gallery walks for the Douglas community.

9-12 school social worker Unfortunately I can’t show my students as most of them are struggling mentally and I want to ensure their privacy. We would love any support to help these kids keep their anxiety in check. We would also love support with our panther store to increase student body moral. We look forward to spreading mental health awareness in our community.

Marlene Hild, various elementary grade levels of homeschool children at Urban Roots Garden Classrooms Urban Roots would use the funds to create a beautiful and sustainable mural. While we are up-cycling plastic bottle caps to make our colorful mural, we still will need supplies, like high quality mural paints and brushes to make the base design. We want every kid to feel empowered to build things, so we will need multiple drills to work as a team and thousands of screws to attach the caps to the mural board. Students will design the mural and work on the project through the fall, but our community will be able to leave their mark by following the kids' design and attaching caps at our many community events. Our small but might farm-ily has already started collecting bottle caps, but we need everyone's help to collect thousands of different colored caps. We want everyone to join us and leave their mark at our farm!

Mrs. Broyles, third and fourth grade, Legacy Christian Academy Mrs. Broyles third and fourth grade class from Legacy Christian Academy will be serving the seniors at the Sierra Living Place in Carson City, NV. At this senior living facility our class will be singing the residents songs we have been learning in school, making arts and crafts, playing games, and we will be bringing them baked goods. If we win our class will use the funds to purchase the Dash Wonder Workshop Classroom Pack robots, as well as iPads.

Whitney Vaughan, 2nd Grade , Coral Academy of Science. Our school doesn't have any outdoor drinking fountains. When it's hot outside the kids get really thirsty! We can only send them into the building one at time so they don't disrupt the other classes that are learning. We've tried to encourage them to bring water bottles, but they often forget or lose their water bottle. Therefore, we're trying to raise money for our school to have outdoor drinking fountains so the kids can get a drink when they're playing. Hydrated Students = Happy Learners!

Social Resource is a branch of the Special Education Department that focuses on assisting students with social and executive functioning skills. Our mission is to make connections with students so they learn the skills necessary to pursue post-secondary education, obtain a job, and most importantly, become productive contributors to our amazing community.

Hanna Stephens, Second Grade, Lemmon Valley Elementary School Hi, my name is Ms. Stephens, we would want to improve our classroom with flexible seating. Flexible seating gives students the choice of what type of seat to use, like wiggle seats, stools or yoga mats. These options allow students to get out their wiggles and promote focus in the classroom. Our community project would be cleaning up the park next to our school.

Angee Maw, Grades 9-12, Carson High School My PE classes of over 50 students need more space to move and learn. We are requesting mirrors to be purchased and placed in the larger, better air conditioned Wrestling Room for this purpose. JROTC Teacher 9-12th grad. Galena High School JROTC are an amazing group of kids. With their mission of statement , " To motivate young people to be better citizens", working with local children in our community is one of our highest priorities.. We dedicate our selves and challenge our students to make a difference and that is why we work with the Reno Fire Department and support them with their annual event that provides a Christmas party with local children in need. Last year we had over 100 cadets in dress uniform volunteering their time to make this party special . We are scheduled to work with RFD again this year and keep giving back to the community.

Kindergartners use social emotional skills everyday from playing math games to working in centers to waiting for a drink at the fountain. Especially during recess, three times a day and they could use more playground equipment and space. With more grass, some small basketball hoops and other items they can practice these skills all the time. This would benefit current and future kindergarteners. Hands on learning is the best kind for these littles and we want to provide it on the playground and in the classroom.

Bradford Ka’ai’ai - North Valleys High School THEATRE North Valleys High School Theatre is humbled for the chance to work with Dolan Auto Group in support of our valleys and greater Reno community. If chosen, this award provides NVHS Theatre students the opportunity to work with industry professionals to grow technical skills as well as soft skills in communication, teamwork, critical thinking, conflict management, leadership, organization, and adaptability. Then, through a collaborative effort, student artists will provide learning opportunities at our feeder elementary and middle schools in a series of theatre art workshops connecting literary content with creative dramatic arts.

Ms. Wellman Visual Arts Teacher-DIlworth Middle School. Dilworth Middle School's idea tp give back to our community. We plan to create designs on shoes for youth in need and then we will donate them to The Domestic Violence Center and The Kids Kottage in Reno, NV.

Miss Meyer, 8th Grade Ceramics, Pau Wa Lu Middle School The 27-year-old kiln for the ceramics class at Pau Wa Lu Middle School has fired its last time and we need your help. Without a working ceramics kiln, the class cannot make projects. The clay used must be fired for it to become impervious to water. Then, the clay is glazed and fired again in the kiln to create a finished project's glossy, smooth surface. Ceramics is not just fun. It provides students with an artistic outlet and a way to show their creative side. There are soothing qualities of clay, ceramics improves motor skills, and allows students to solve problems in a safe setting. Additionally, ceramics is a way to connect students to the community. Our class plans to make Christmas ornaments, vases for flowers, and decorations to share with senior citizens in our community, but without a working kiln, this is not possible. Please help us to get fired up for ceramics.

Kayla Troche & Kristopher Kelly. The two 5th-grade classes at Libby Booth Elementary would like to use the prize money to help fund an overnight end-of-the-year field trip. For their community service project, they want to create care kits- including blankets, clothing, and snacks- for those in need. The video and community service project were developed by the students themselves. Our school serves midtown and downtown Reno. Many of the students in our grade level have never been camping before. The trip they would be using the funds for would be a wonderful chance for them to form precious memories by experiencing nature and bonding with their peers in their last year of elementary school.

Shelbilyn Beaty, 4th Grade, Riverview Elementary School, Dayton Nevada My class is engaging in a STEM project to solve a real problem in our school. Early on this year, my students and I discussed recycling and what its purpose is. All of the kids in my class were passionate that it is a problem that our school doesn't recycle. We have worked on understanding the how tos, the dos and don'ts, and what we can do to start this project. We have run into a roadblock with the limited resources of our area and need some help getting this project up and running. We would use this money to provide our school with recycling bins, and the resources to transport our recycling to a recycling plant. Thank you for your support!

Jeremy Falconer 5th Grade Mark Twain Elementary School Mark Twain Elementary School's 5th grade student leadership wants to change our community by flooding it with positivity. If we raise students who are positive, polite, and kind, then they will carry these attributes into the community changing the world for the better. Funds will be used to purchase prizes for our Positive Behavior Intervention System, so that teachers and students can call attention to the awesome behaviors of every day role models--Hawk heros--and reward them. It will also be used to take our leadership students out into our community so that they can witness real life leadership jobs/skills in real life.

Sharon Black, Library, Galena High School The library at Galena HS is full of wonderful students. Sadly, our furniture and computers are not nearly as wonderful. We would love to be able to update our space and make it more modern and functional for all our students.

Kimberly Tucker 8th Grade Eagle Valley Middle School Carson City, NV Building Engineers is a new Career and Technical Education course offered at Eagle Valley Middle School. Our class objectives incorporate the engineering design process throughout a series of units that focus on the different subsets of engineers. Students research and create hands on projects that focus on these different career paths. Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to reach some of our standards, as they require the use of hand and power tools. Our class would like to incorporate a unit where students are using the engineering design process to plan, create, test, and improve pinewood derby cars. With your help, we can purchase materials, such as work benches, power tools, hand tools, a pinewood derby track, and building materials. At the end of our project we plan to invite our local elementary school students to visit our school and learn more about the engineering design process. We will act as mentors to younger students in hopes of encouraging their love of STEM.

Mr. Mick Kindergarten - Second Grade Comprehensive Life Skills (CLS) Fremont Elementary School Carson City, Nevada This video submission highlights how, if my class were to be awarded one of the grants, we would be able to make teaching Life Skills fun and engaging through hands-on materials and activities which would allow us to give back to the school and our community.

Amy Nutcher, Mark Twain ESL Department grades Kinder-5th We plan on using the money to fund our third annual Podasa. A Posada is a Mexican Christmas celebration. Our Posada involves building a relationship between our Hispanic families, Hispanic traditions, and our school community. We make pinatas with our students to break at the Posada. Families bring in a plethora of foods to share, including pozole, tacos, tamales, flan, champurrado, and ponche. Families also enjoy crafts, face painting, serving food, and even pictures with Santa. Hosting an event such as the Posada is a great way to build relationships with our students, families, stakeholders and community. Help us host this special cultural event this year!

Michele Panelli, Music, Mt. Rose Elementary. Our video features students playing musical instruments under the guidance of our music teacher, Michele Panelli, highlighting the importance of music in relation to our brains and more specifically the brains of Alzheimers patients. We are partnering with the Alzheimer's Organization to raise awareness of and support for Alzheimers patients and families in Northern Nevada. Our students will be participating in the Alzheimer Walk on October 8th at the Sparks Marina. Get ready to jam out and meet myself, Mrs. Davis, students ranging from 2nd grade to 5th grade as well as my amazing school Katherine Dunn Elementary. My library is in desperate need of a mural that welcomes every student/person in along with new books and book nooks for my students to enjoy reading. My goal since I have taken over this position has been to bring in new books that are updated, relevant and have faces like my students’ in them. My library lacks comfort spaces for my students to be able to get lost in their books. I want to contact a local artist from our community to paint a mural that includes my students and captures our school love and inclusivity. Our school is full of diversity and my library needs to reflect this environment. I want ALL my students to feel welcomed and safe once they walk into my library as they grow their minds. Thank you! We seek further opportunities to enrich our students learning experiences and joyfully plan to provide educational bonding for families throughout the region by hosting a Civil War ball.

Mr. Crowther, Middle School Choir (6-8), Depoali Middle School. Our choir program is mighty, but our voices are still too small to fill up the large space from our cafeteria stage. Quality microphones designed specifically for choirs will help us be heard and feel like our audience can appreciate the detail we have worked hard for.
