At first, I resolved to change that by using my voice to raise awareness, inspire change, and provide encouragement to other military families. As I started that journey, I soon realized how many people in the military community experienced similar struggles, and I began empowering others to join me in raising awareness and advocacy.

My own experiences with infertility and the frustrations resulting from a lack of insurance coverage led me to RESOLVE, a non-profit that advocates for insurance coverage for fertility treatments and other pro-family legislation. To change things for future military and veteran families, I began advocating in 2020 for legislation that supports the military and veteran communities with RESOLVE’s annual Federal Advocacy Day. During Advocacy Day, I shared my personal infertility story with Congressmembers to spread awareness of the challenges families face in both infertility and seeking treatment while moving every few years. In 2021, I joined RESOLVE’s Advocacy Day Volunteer Committee to help plan, recruit, and empower others to use their voices to create change. Then in 2022, RESOLVE worked with me to create a new military and veteran-focused subcommittee, Military & Veterans Taskforce, and asked me to lead it. Through this subcommittee, I recruited, trained, and supported military-connected advocates and educated non-military advocates on military service and family building issues, empowering the volunteers to fight for our military and veteran families on Advocacy Day. After leading the Military & Veterans Taskforce for two years, I am now the Co-Chair for Advocacy Day 2024, helping to lead the Volunteer Committee and inspire the next generation of family-building advocates.

As I continued to find my voice and purpose in raising awareness, I decided it was time to branch out. In 2022, I launched the first peer-led support group for military and veteran families facing infertility, filling a much-needed gap for support. In 2023, I founded my own non-profit, Building Military Families Network, to fill a gap in support and information for military and veteran families she experienced during her family building struggles. The decision to branch out and launch a nonprofit came after failed collaborations and the need for a dedicated organization providing support to families in the trenches of building their families. The nonprofit’s mission is to provide an empowering and supportive network to military and veteran families that are navigating the challenges in the family building process through support groups, education, and resources. AMSE® 2024 Military Spouse Entrepreneur Award
OFFICIAL RULES

1. Sponsor: AMSE 2024 Military Spouse Entrepreneur Award (the "Contest") is sponsored by Assoc of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs, 2300 James River Trace, Hampton, VA (the “Sponsor”). The Sponsor is responsible for all aspects of the Contest. Participation in the Contest constitutes the participant's full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules, and Sponsor’s decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to the Contest.

2. Eligibility: Contest (the "Contest") is only open to participants who are legal residents of the United States, and who are 18+ at the time of entry (the “Entrant”). Employees of Assoc of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs (the "Sponsor"), their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising and promotion agencies, suppliers, and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible to participate in the Contest. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations—void where prohibited or restricted by law, rule, or regulation.

3. Contest Period: Voting will be accepted online starting on April 16, 2024, at noon EST and ending on April 30, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. EST (the “Entry Period”). All times are (GMT-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada). Entries submitted before or after the Entry Period will not be eligible. The sponsor’s computer is the official timekeeping device for the Contest.

4. How to Enter: The Contest must be entered by submitting an entry using the online form provided on this site. The entry must fulfill all Contest requirements, as specified, to be eligible to win a prize. Entries that are incomplete or do not adhere to the rules or specifications may be disqualified at the sole discretion of Assoc of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs. You may enter only once and you must fill in the information requested. You may not enter more times than indicated by using multiple e-mail addresses, identities, or devices in an attempt to circumvent the rules. If you use fraudulent methods or otherwise attempt to circumvent the rules your submission may be removed from eligibility at the sole discretion of Assoc of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs.

5. Qualifying Submissions: Rules & Criteria Applicants can nominate themselves or other milspouse business owners who: are of any status: retired, active duty, reserve, national guard have a service-based, product-based, or nonprofit business have been in business any number of years but who are ACTIVELY in business Must have an EIN or LLC status (established business) are an AMSE member: "freemium" or All-Access completed profile on the platform required have entrepreneurship skills & achievements are committed to supporting the military community must be US based Must be 18 years of age by the nomination deadline Must own 51% of the business.

6. Judging: The Contest entries will be judged based on: Our selection process and will focus on three areas: Mission / Impact Community Involvement /Building a Compelling Story Judging will be conducted by Leaders in the military spouse community, board members, and partners.

7. Prizes: The approximate retail value of all prizes is $10k. The prizes are:

A night at New York Fashion Week (travel included) and a Nolcha Show at NY Fashion Week (with professional hair and makeup plus front-row seating during the show!) or join Millionaire Milspouse Mentorship Day with Birthing of Giants (3-hour small group mentor session) in January 2025 (travel included).

Actual/appraised value may differ at the time of prize award.
The specifics of the prize shall be solely determined by the Sponsor. No cash or other prize substitution is permitted except at Sponsor's discretion. The prize is nontransferable. Any prize-related expenses, including without limitation any federal, state, and local taxes shall be the sole responsibility of the winner. No substitution of prize or transfer/assignment of prize to others or request for the cash equivalent by winners is permitted. Acceptance of the prize constitutes permission for Assoc of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs to use the winner's name, likeness, and entry for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation unless prohibited by law.

8. Winner Notification: Winners of the Contest will be notified via e-mail or phone to the e-mail address or phone number they entered into the Contest within five (5) days following the winner selection. Assoc of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs shall have no liability for a winner's failure to receive notices due to the winner's spam, junk e-mail, or other security settings or for the winner's provision of incorrect or otherwise non-functioning contact information. If the selected winner cannot be contacted, is ineligible, fails to claim the prize within 15 days from the time award notification was sent, or fails to timely return a completed and executed declaration and releases as required, the prize may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected. The receipt by the winner of the prize offered in this Contest is conditioned upon compliance with any federal and state laws and regulations. ANY VIOLATION OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES BY ANY WINNER (AT THE SPONSOR'S SOLE DISCRETION) WILL RESULT IN SUCH WINNER'S DISQUALIFICATION AS WINNER OF THE CONTEST AND ALL PRIVILEGES AS WINNER WILL BE IMMEDIATELY TERMINATED.

9. Rights Granted by you: By entering this Contest you understand that Assoc of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs, anyone acting on behalf of Assoc of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs, or its respective licensees, successors and assigns will have the right, where permitted by law, without any further notice, review or consent to print, publish, broadcast, distribute, and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter in perpetuity and throughout the World, your entry, including, without limitation, the entry and winner's name, portrait, picture, voice, likeness, image or statements about the Contest, and biographical information as news, publicity or information and for trade, advertising, public relations and promotional purposes without any further compensation.

10. Terms: Assoc of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs reserves the right, in its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Contest should (in its sole discretion) a virus, bugs, non-authorized human intervention, fraud, or other causes beyond its control corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness or proper conduct of the Contest. In such case, Assoc of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs may judge submissions from all eligible entries received before and/or after (if appropriate) the action taken by Assoc of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs. Assoc of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs reserves the right at its sole discretion to disqualify any individual who tampers or attempts to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or website or violates these Terms & Conditions. Assoc of Military Spouse Entrepreneurs has the right, in its sole discretion, to maintain the integrity of the Contest, to void entries for any reason, including, but not limited to; multiple entries from the same user from different IP addresses; multiple entries from the same computer over that allowed by Contest rules; or the use of bots, macros or scripts or other technical means for entering.
